About Kasper

My name is Kasper Krogh and I am a Danish Formula Renault driver. It is my goal to become a professional racing driver in top level international racing.

I have always loved motorsports and have been racing since I was seven. On two wheels and dirt in motocross at first, but when I was 13 I switched to karting and with the goal of becoming a professional racing driver I moved from Denmark to Sweden when I was 16 to study at a motorsports college.

While at my first year at the college I pervaded my parents to buy an old Formula Ford Zetec and arranged with some of my friends from school to be my mechanics. Neither of us had any experience what so ever with Formula cars. We did three races in Denmark. Of cause we were not competitive at the front but with a race pace less than two seconds off the front guys we did really well actually.

The next year the college put together a Formula Renault team to race in the Swedish championship. I raced one of the cars, with the some of the same classmates as mechanics as with the Formula Ford. The car was not updated though and we did not reach any really good results. But I got to do quite a lot of cheap testing which gave me some good experience in the Formula Renault car.

I am now 19 years old and havejustfinished my final year of my motorsports education in Sweden. This year I am competing in the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship in the UK with Antel Motorsport. I moved to Silverstone after my graduation and I’m now working for Antel Motorsport as well as being their number one driver.

Education

I am a student at the Motorsport Technical College of Sweden situated at Scandinavian Raceway. The education is a three year practical and theoretical motorsports education, which gives you good basic skills in all aspects of motorsport. We drive, build, race and repair the schools own racing cars. Besides getting good mechanical insight the education also contains normal courses such as mathematics, English, Swedish and physics. As a special course racing technical English has been fitted into the education as well. It is really a very good basic all around education for anyone who wants to work in motorsport. Last year the school even ran a Formula Renault 2.0 team in which I was a driver, and a mechanic when not driving. I chose this education because I wanted to get the mechanical or technical insight needed to be able to communicate well with my race engineers and mechanics, which is very important for a top level racing driver.
